Luna Grill To Remodel San Diego LocationsJune 2012

The Mission Valley location of Luna Grill, a Persian-Mediterranean chain, is getting a new look the company hopes will give their restaurants a more family-oriented feeling.
Most updates to the restaurant will be aesthetic – changing the design of tables, chairs and lighting to reflect the new mood of the restaurant, while also removing some of the red colors from the eatery’s layout and introducing dark brown hues.
Enrique Lombrozo, chief development officer at Premier Food Concepts, said the design was intended to distinguish Luna Grill from many fast food chains many of whom – In-N-Out and Smash Burger, for example – use similar color palettes.
But the redesign reflects the changes in the restaurant’s demographic and services and helps distinguish Luna Grill from fast-food chains that use similar colors.
Although Luna Grill offers quick service, the food offered by the restaurant falls in a category a far cry from fast food, he said.
Dinner business has been growing steadily, said Sean Pourteymour, CEO of Premier Food Concepts LLC, which operates Luna Grill restaurants. He hopes the new look will encourage a “sit-down” atmosphere and lend a more comfortable, family-oriented feeling to the restaurant.
All six Luna Grill locations in San Diego and one in Orange County will be updated one at a time, Pourteymour said.
An eighth Luna Grill location is set to open in the Irvine Spectrum in early August.
