Luna Grill Opens With New Design, POS System

California-based Luna Grill opened a new unit in San Diego last month, marking the chain’s ninth location. It features an open kitchen that allow guests to walk down the line and watch chefs prepare their handmade meals, said Enrique Lombrozo, CDO.

“We also worked very closely with Micros to design an elaborate state-of-the-art POS system with multiple printers and large-screen KDS monitors,” he said. “The moment an order is entered into the system, every kitchen workstation and every cook know what they need to do to fill that order. We’ve improved efficiency and reduced ticket times.”

Lombrozo said another upgrade to the new Luna unit is that the dining area is more inviting to help increase evening sales.

“It has been our most successful opening so far with first month sales going through the roof,” he said.

Luna Grill serves Mediterranean cuisine and provides catering service for corporate and private events. Menu items include kabobs, original salads, gourmet wraps, desserts, beer and wine.
